About the Author
Eric Meyers, M.A. is both a counseling astrologer and an author/philosopher, currently living outside Asheville, NC. With a background in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology (Naropa University), his focus is on spiritual growth, emotional healing, the discovery of life purpose, and relationship astrology. Eric has found that astrology clarifies each person's unique path of spiritual awakening. Once we're able to resolve and love the past and work through our karmic patterns, we are more able to be mindful in the present moment. Eric is a graduate of the Steven Forrest Apprenticeship program; an "evolutionary astrologer" with a transpersonal emphasis. Astrological Treasure Trove

Eric Meyers has done something very important here. He has spelled out what astrology's next step needs to be, if it is to keep from calcifying as a field of inquiry: a guide to transpersonal understanding. The Astrology of Awakening draws connections between today's astrology and the universal truths of ancient wisdom paths, exposing the transformational meanings that reside beneath the surface of each of the familiar symbols. Reading it is like walking down the basement stairs of a conventional house, and discovering a treasure trove down there. He shows us an immensely rich dimension that extends way beyond the vocabulary of character traits and personality profiling to which modern astrology has been confined. I suspect that truth-seekers of every stripe- non-astrologers interested in self-search, as well as sky-watchers impatient with the clichés of pop astrology -- will feel they've struck gold. By formally honoring the trans-egoic approach this wonderful book gives us a picture of what astrology could be, in the years ahead: a tool of spiritual growth

Groundbreaking ideas in Astrology

I have read Eric's other books, and I find him to be a unique voice in the field. Eric addresses some of the primary issues that astrologers ought to concern themselves with today. Primarily, he confronts the limiting ideas of the patriarchal value system that have co-opted astrology in the past, and he lays out a potential course for the evolution of the discipline. As a practicing astrologer for 14 years, I have found frustration in the limited way that astrology is sometimes used. Eric offers the ways in which the transpersonal perspective can bring astrology forward as a tool for evoulution and spiritual awakening, rather than merely as a means toward personal gain. Eric's ideas are fresh and always interesting, and he writes with clarity and wisdom. I recommend this and his other books highly.

About the Author
Dr. Paul Pimsleur devoted his life to language teaching and testing and was one of the world’s leading experts in applied linguistics. I bought this book 9/10/09 for school & am still waiting for it!!! Do Not Buy From This Company. E-mail sent have gone unanswered. Very frustrating. Had I known it would take over a month with no information whatsoever, I would have ordered from some other place.
