Best technical coverage of the subject!

It can be called a bible of U-boat design.Because its writer has a long experience over the subject. I recommend all designer to have this book on their shelves!
Unfortunately it needs some modification by considering recent developments on submarine design.
It can be good for those who wanna design U-boats for themselves.But its reading needs some knowledge of general engineering.
I recommend it for all Submarine fans.

It was good.

Overall, it was a fun, quick read. My girlfriend and I follow the tumblr online, and were excited for the book to come out.
Personally, I didn't find the issue to be anywhere near as humorous as the mini comics posted online (which is hard to do), but as a short story I thought it was well done.
There was action, feels, and plot twists; which considering the size of the book, is pretty impressive.
A nice touch was that at the end of the graphic novel, it had compiled all the mini comics from tumblr. I had fun perusing those again :)

This issue is mostly an intro to the main characters, and a hint of a story ark. The actual story contained in this issue is nothing new, but the characters pull it off with style. And cuteness.

About the Author
S. Christian Albright received his B.S. degree in mathematics from Stanford in 1968 and his Ph.D. in operations research from Stanford in 1972. Since then, he has been teaching in the Operations and Decision Technologies Department in the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He has taught courses in management science, computer simulation, and statistics to all levels of business students: undergraduates, MBAs, and doctoral students. His current interest is in spreadsheet modeling, including development of VBA applications in Excel. Dr. Albright has published more than 20 articles in leading operations research journals in the area of applied probability. He has also published a number of successful textbooks, including DATA ANALYSIS AND DECISION MAKING, DATA ANALYSIS FOR MANAGERS, and SPREADSHEET MODELING AND APPLICATIONS.

Tells you just what you need to know

This book is excellent for the person who simply wants to expand their ability to use Excel without becoming a VBA expert. Most books on VBA seem to be written for computer professionals who, for example, seem to want to know about every data type that can be handled before learning anything else. Most of us would rather just learn how to do the things we need to do. This book uses this much more useful route (for ordinary folks)and tells us how to do the basic kind of stuff that we need to do (and that isn't at all obvious how to do): Key topics are accessing data in a range of a worksheet, outputting data to a range, writing a function, etc. etc. It only tells you what you need to know and it explains it all clearly. I had banged my head against a wall before finding this book and it answered all my questions and dissipated all my frustrations. I've recommended it to many of my friends.

Gets your creative juices flowing!

The biggest problem that I see with learning VBA is not trying to figure out topics such as object hierarchy, syntax, or "if" statements (there are plenty of excellent VBA guides for that!) No, figuring out what to do with all of the "stuff" you just learned is the bigger challenge.

That is where Mr. Albright's book really stands out. While the first few chapters do provide some basic treatment of VBA, it's the other half of this book that really shines! Here you will find 16 full-blown programs that cover everything from industrial applications (process blending, product mix, production scheduling, etc.) to financial analysis programs (stock trading, portfolio optimization, etc) and much more.

In these 16 chapters is where you will learn to use all that "stuff." And not only use it, but get creative with it. Mr. Albright has done a brilliant job at not only walking through the code step-by-step, but also imparting to the reader the all important "why component." After spending some time with this book, you will undoubtedly be a better technical, and equally important, creative programmer.

About the Author
Ngugi is world famous for his novels from Weep Not, Child to Matigari and the impact of his plays, especially in Gikuyu, which led to his detention in Kenya. He is now Professor of Comparative Literature and Performance Studies in New York University. This book reflects many of the concerns found in Decolonising the Mind and Moving the Centre.

The most treasured book I own!

This book is a must read for anyone concerned or struggling with the equality of others or themselves. It is a must read for anyone who thinks they know why minorities are the way they are. It is a must read for disentangling nearly 600 years of global imperialism. Ngugi's book is also a must read for understanding what is happening today, to all of us.
This book is compact yet dense with insight. The chapters inside this book examine the need for "re-centering" culture and establishing cultural freedom presently hindered by Eurocentrism, colonialism, and the "imperialism of language." The chapter on the "Imperialism of Language" is my favorite because here Ngugi carefully examines a cultural by-product of Eurocentrism and colonialism, that is, the loss of language. He writes that the world today is "dominated by a handful of languages," which is quite awesome considering the multitude of languages that prevailed, without outside dominance, prior to 600 years ago, or even 150 years ago.
This small review does little justice to this book that has been read and re-read by me for several years now, always finding something more, or understanding more with every new reading. I am writing this review because I am giving my copy of this book to my son. He is ready for it now, after reading other books I have suggested to him so that he might understand his roots and his present. I do not believe in lending out any book you are not willing to loose (many people have asked to read this book but I have never allowed it to leave my home). I am looking to replace it already, hence, arriving here at Amazon and this review.

Great for students of contemporary African History

This is good source for students of contemporary African history. It provides the modern context of post-colonialism and for Kenya in particular.
